Koalicja Obywatelska leads September poll with 26.1% as PiS slides to 15%

Koalicja Obywatelska leads parliamentary voting intentions in Poland with 26.1% support in a survey conducted by CBOS between 7 and 9 September 2026. The result represents a 0.3 percentage point increase from August. Prawo i Sprawiedliwość placed second with 15.0%, dropping 1.5 percentage points compared to the previous month. Konfederacja, led by Sławomir Mentzen and Krzysztof Bosak, took third place at 14.8%, gaining 1.8 percentage points and trailing Prawo i Sprawiedliwość by 0.2 percentage points. CBOS noted that September marks the second consecutive month halting a downward trend for Koalicja Obywatelska that lasted between May and July.

Multi-month slide for Prawo i Sprawiedliwość

The 15.0% result recorded for Prawo i Sprawiedliwość is the party's lowest level of support in CBOS polling since the parliamentary elections of October 2023. The measurement marks a four-month sequence of declining support for Jarosław Kaczyński's party in CBOS surveys. The party registered 22.1% support in June 2026, falling to 19.1% in July and 16.5% in August before reaching 15.0% in September. Across the same four-month period, Konfederacja closed the gap to within 0.2 percentage points of the principal opposition party.

Performance of smaller parties and coalition partners

Several smaller formations cleared the 5% parliamentary threshold in the September CBOS survey. Konfederacja Korony Polskiej recorded 7.8% support, while Partia Razem reached 6.1% following a 1.7 percentage point gain, and Nowa Lewica achieved 5.9% with a 2.1 percentage point increase. Multiple current governing partners and opposition groups fell below the 5% threshold required to enter the Sejm. Rozwój Plus, led by former prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki, received 3.7% support, down 0.1 percentage points from August. Polskie Stronnictwo Ludowe registered 2.5% support, while Polska 2050 reached 0.8% after a 2.6 percentage point drop, and Unia Centrum, founded by Paulina Hennig-Kloska and Ryszard Petru, received 0.1%. Seat estimates published alongside the polling indicate that Konfederacja would gain 79 seats in parliament, while Koalicja Obywatelska would gain 15 seats and Partia Razem 17 seats.

Methodology and alternative polling models

The CBOS survey interviewed 1,001 adult residents across Poland using 80% computer-assisted telephone interviews and 20% computer-assisted web interviews. Declared voter turnout reached 73.9%, representing a 0.1 percentage point decrease compared to August. Undecided voters accounted for 14.3% of respondents, 2.2% refused to disclose their preference, and 0.7% selected other parties. In an alternative CBOS scenario excluding undecided voters and refusals, Koalicja Obywatelska obtained 29.1%, Prawo i Sprawiedliwość recorded 19.1%, Konfederacja reached 17.9%, Konfederacja Korony Polskiej received 8.1%, Nowa Lewica took 7.2%, Partia Razem reached 6.8%, and Rozwój Plus crossed the threshold with 6.2%. In a separate survey published by TVP Info, Koalicja Obywatelska registered 31.4% against 17.5% for Prawo i Sprawiedliwość, leading Prime Minister Donald Tusk to comment on X.
