    Hessentag 2026 ends with 1.1 million visitors, sweltering parade and a handover to Idstein

    Rain at the start, heat at the finish: the ten-day Hessentag state festival in Fulda closed Sunday with a parade and a visitor count of about 1.1 million, well above the 700,000 expected. Next year the event moves to Idstein in the Rheingau-Taunus district.
