Quarterly results

Stellantis reported third-quarter revenue of €37.6 billion, up 1% on the same period of 2025. The net loss narrowed by 90%, but outlets report the figure differently: ANSA and Il Sole 24 Ore cite a loss of €500 million, while La Repubblica and La Stampa cite €453 million. Adjusted operating income is given as €300 million by ANSA and as €256 million by La Repubblica, RTE and Bloomberg, with a margin of 0.7%. RTE notes that a Reuters poll of analysts had pointed to adjusted EBIT of €191 million, so the €256 million figure came in above that consensus. La Repubblica recalls that the third quarter of 2025 had been weighed down by almost €5.8 billion of adjustments, mainly tied to warranties, programme cancellations and restructuring, and that this quarter's adjustments fell to €587 million.

Regional sales and revenue

Revenue moved unevenly across regions. ANSA reports revenue up 3% in Europe enlarged and 3% in South America, down 3% in North America, down 19% in the Middle East and Africa and down 7% in Asia Pacific. In North America, unit sales rose 1% year on year, with US and Canadian sales each down 0.3% and Mexico up 24%, while the US market fell 0.8%. The company credits strong Ram 1500 sales, up 73%, along with gains for the Dodge Durango and Chrysler Pacifica, and North American market share rose to 7.5%, 10 basis points higher. In Europe enlarged, sales rose 1% (6% including Leapmotor), helped by a 36% rise on the Smart Car platform and stronger battery-electric demand in France, Germany and the United Kingdom. Battery-electric car sales in the EU30 grew 65%, while sales fell 27% in Asia Pacific and 22% in the Middle East and Africa.

Cash and nine-month figures

Industrial cash outflow was about €4 billion in the quarter, according to RTE and La Stampa, an improvement on the €4.3 billion outflow a year earlier that La Stampa reports. Available industrial liquidity stood at €42.7 billion, equal to 26% of net revenue over the last 12 months and inside the company's 25 to 30% target range. La Stampa reports that the first nine months brought a net profit of €217 million, against a loss of €6.79 billion a year earlier, with revenue up 7% to €119.2 billion. Adjusted operating income for the nine months more than tripled to €1.99 billion, lifting the margin to 1.7% from 0.6%. La Repubblica flags cash absorption, alongside Europe's return to profitability, as one of the two central issues still facing the group.

Outlook and management comments

Stellantis confirmed its 2026 forecasts and its target of positive industrial cash flow in 2027. ANSA reads the guidance as net revenue growth in the mid single digits, which it puts at about 5% against 2025, with an adjusted operating margin in the low single digits. CEO Antonio Filosa said the company had made further progress in the first phase of its FaSTLAne 2030 plan:

“We have made further progress in the first phase of executing the FaSTLAne 2030 plan.”

Antonio Filosa, stellantis chief executive officer

Filosa also pointed to an improvement on the previous year across all of the company's main financial and operating indicators. In a separate statement, he described the cost programme's progress in these terms:

“Our Value Creation Programme has ramped up rapidly, with positive contributions being recognized in the quarter.”

Antonio Filosa, stellantis chief executive officer

The company said it remains on track to deliver at least 40% of the total €6 billion in run-rate efficiencies by the end of 2026.

Maserati plan

Stellantis set 10 December as the date for the Maserati plan presentation at the Maserati Day in Modena. According to La Stampa, the plan sits within the FaSTLAne 2030 strategy presented on 21 May. Santo Ficili, chief executive of Maserati and Alfa Romeo, had pointed to December at the Paris motor show without giving a specific day. Maserati's management had promised the new brand project by the end of the year.
