Olympiacos celebrates Greek Basket League title at nightclub: Vezenkov dances to Eurovision hit, teases coach Bartzokas
Hours after clinching their 16th Greek championship against Panathinaikos, Olympiacos players and staff celebrated at a Piraeus nightclub, where forward Sasha Vezenkov DJ'd and danced to Eurovision winner Bangaranga.
Championship victory
Olympiacos Piraeus captured their 16th Greek Basket League title, defeating archrivals Panathinaikos to complete a double-winning season that also included the Euroleague trophy secured weeks earlier against Real Madrid. The domestic crown marks the club's fourth championship in five years, reinforcing its dominant run in the Greek top flight. Players, coaching staff, and management went directly from the Peace and Friendship Stadium to a well-known nightclub, where the two trophies took pride of place on stage.
Nightclub celebration
The celebration unfolded at a nightclub where singer Katerina Lioliou performed, her hit "Noikiastike" having become an unofficial anthem for Olympiacos supporters during recent European successes of both the basketball and football teams. As Lioliou launched into the song, the venue erupted, with coach Georgios Bartzokas showered with flowers. She cradled both trophies and dedicated another track, "To 'Vale", to the European and Greek champions.
The bouzoukia will be different tonight. My first time.
French guard Evan Fournier, named MVP of the Basket League finals, posted his anticipation on X before arriving, confirming it was his maiden bouzoukia experience.
Vezenkov's antics
Forward Sasha Vezenkov, already the Euroleague MVP, commanded the floor off the court. He took over as DJ, danced frenetically to Bulgaria's Eurovision-winning entry "Bangaranga", and later sang along to Lioliou's "O Logariasmos". Addressing coach Bartzokas directly from the microphone, he joked about his secret visits during the season.
Coach, all year you told me not to come here, but I came and hid. Now I can even go on stage.
The Bulgarian forward's energy set the tone, with teammates joining in and the crowd of Olympiacos fans chanting "Eisai sto myalo" (You are on our mind) throughout the night.
Bartzokas and the wider club
Coach Bartzokas, central to the festivities, was filmed singing "Peraea mou, Peraea mou" in a display of affection for the club. The party brought together the entire organisation, from players and technical staff to management, reflecting the tight-knit culture that has delivered four domestic titles and two European crowns in recent seasons. The two trophies — Basket League and Euroleague — remained on stage as visible symbols of the season's achievements.
