Karol Nawrocki Pledges Support for Farmers at Presidential Harvest Festival in Tryńcza

President Karol Nawrocki and First Lady Marta Nawrocka attended the annual Presidential Harvest Festival in Tryńcza on Sunday, 13 September 2026. The celebration marked the first time Podkarpackie Voivodeship hosted the event and the first time in seven years that the national harvest ceremonies took place outside Warsaw. The gathering began at 11:00 with an outdoor Catholic mass celebrated by the Metropolitan of Przemyśl, Archbishop Adam Szal, who urged farmers to maintain solidarity and preserve agricultural traditions. Podkarpackie Marshal Władysław Ortyl also addressed the crowd, stating that a strong and safe Poland depends on domestic food security. Folk performances accompanied the ceremonies, including displays by the Song and Dance Ensemble "Rzeszowiacy".

After seven years we return to this tradition in which the Polish president goes to thank both the people and the land from which all Poles have bread, and where Polish food security grows.

Agricultural pressures and policy pledges

During his address to thousands of farmers, breeders, and beekeepers, Nawrocki pledged to serve as an advocate for rural communities facing compounding economic pressures. He noted that farm procurement prices remain at levels seen 15 years ago, while producers confront weather disruptions ranging from severe droughts to heavy downpours. The president pointed to elevated operational expenses, specifically high prices for fuel and fertilizers, alongside market competition generated by non-European Union agricultural imports. In addressing policy responses, Nawrocki cited the advisory role of the presidential Council for Agriculture and Rural Areas and noted the recent enactment of legislation extending the moratorium on state agricultural land sales by 10 years.

Poland is one. The work done here, in Podkarpacie, on Polish agricultural farms, on Polish land, is work done for our entire national community, for the whole of Poland.

Civil society and cultural heritage

Nawrocki described the craftsmanship and symbolism of traditional harvest wreaths, pointing to historical motifs such as royal crowns that recall more than a millennium of Polish statehood. He emphasized that constructing the complex wreaths demands months of coordinated communal labor, artistic sensitivity, and shared responsibility. The president thanked local community organizations, including Rural Housewives Clubs, Volunteer Fire Brigades, and agricultural self-government bodies, for sustaining civic engagement and Christian values in towns and villages across Poland.

Parallel security monitoring

While attending the festivities in Tryńcza, the president received continuous security updates from the Duty Operational Service operating within the National Security Bureau. Earlier that morning, Polish radar systems tracked an attack involving a dozen Geran-5 jet-powered drones in western Ukraine. One drone struck one kilometer from the Polish border, another five kilometers away, while other strikes hit near the Dorohusk-Jagodzin border crossing and targeted a Kyiv-Warsaw passenger train on the Ukrainian side. The Polish military scrambled fighter jets to protect regional airspace, and the Operational Command of the Armed Forces confirmed before 10:00 that no Polish airspace violations had occurred. Presidential spokesperson Rafał Leśkiewicz confirmed that presidential staff maintained coordination with the Government Centre for Security ahead of a 17:00 crisis briefing convened by Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
