PSG agree personal terms with Ajax's Mika Godts, but Dutch club demand €60m and resist sale
Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement in principle on personal terms with Ajax winger Mika Godts, but the Dutch club insists no formal offer has been made and wants to keep the 21-year-old for at least another season.
Personal terms agreed
Paris Saint-Germain moved quickly to secure the services of Ajax winger Mika Godts, with agent Niels De Jonck confirming to De Telegraaf that the 21-year-old Belgian has accepted a salary proposal from the French champions. The agreement in principle on personal terms was first reported by Fabrizio Romano on Friday evening and was corroborated by multiple Dutch and Belgian outlets on Saturday.

De Jonck added that Godts wants to join PSG and expressed confidence the two clubs would reach an agreement on a transfer fee. No formal offer had been submitted to Ajax as of Saturday afternoon, however, leaving the deal in a delicate early phase.
Ajax's resistance
Ajax technical director Jordi Cruijff moved to cool the speculation in an interview with the same Dutch newspaper. He acknowledged PSG's interest but stressed that the Amsterdam club intends to keep the player.
Ajax wishes to keep Mika in Amsterdam for at least one more season.
Cruijff said no offer had arrived from Paris. Dutch reports indicate Ajax would demand around €60 million for the winger, who is under contract until 2029. Godts joined Ajax from Gent in January 2023 and has made 113 appearances, scoring 25 goals and providing 23 assists. Last season he registered 17 goals and 12 assists in the Eredivisie, even as Ajax slumped to fifth place with their lowest points total since 1962.
The Porto meeting
While negotiations played out in the media, Godts was spotted at Porto airport in conversation with PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos. Images circulating on social media showed the two men in discussion, though the meeting was unrelated to a potential transfer to FC Porto. The encounter underlined PSG's determination to push the deal forward, with Campos, the architect of the club's recent Champions League triumph, taking a direct role.
Godts' public stance
In an interview with Ziggo Sport, Godts himself struck a more cautious tone, insisting he is focused on Ajax and not actively seeking a move. He acknowledged the disappointment of last season but said he wants to win with the club.
I'm here. Last season went really well for me. It would be very selfish of me to be happy with that, because we finished fifth and played in the play-offs.
He expressed belief that Ajax can challenge for the title and said he is happy at the Johan Cruyff ArenA. Asked about a potential proposal from another club, he replied: "We'll see then. Right now, nothing is happening, and I'm really happy here."
PSG's wider transfer plans
The pursuit of Godts fits into a broader reshaping of PSG's attack. A move for Yan Diomande has collapsed, and Bradley Barcola is attracting interest from Liverpool, creating an urgent need for a winger. Monaco's Maghnes Akliouche is also on PSG's shortlist, but Godts appears to be the priority. The Belgian was not selected for the World Cup despite his club form, and PSG view him as a long-term successor to Barcola.
