Democratic backlash and 2028 primary threats

The convention appearance drew swift condemnation from Pennsylvania Democrats, several of whom are exploring primary campaigns against Fetterman for the 2028 Senate election. Former Representative Conor Lamb, whom Fetterman defeated in the 2022 Senate primary, said the video had "all the persuasiveness of a North Korean newscast" and noted that state party leaders view the incumbent as an irrelevance.
