The event honoured Cádiz businessman José Luis López, known as "El Turronero", during local celebrations for Tourist Day. Sofía occupied a seat in the front rows directly alongside López's family from Ubrique. During the ceremony, Osborne appeared in high spirits and joined bullfighter Juan José Padilla on stage to accompany the honouree. Reports regarding the couple first surfaced at the end of 2025, when journalist Luis Rollán detailed their connection on the television programme Fiesta. Rollán explained that people in El Rocío had observed the pair spending time together in private homes and at public festivities, including a winter party organised by López.

When reports first appeared, Osborne insisted that Sofía was merely a friend and commented that he was seeing several women without any single relationship being exclusive. However, Spanish publications note that she is the only companion seen with him across the past nine months. Sofía, who has Dutch and Brazilian ancestry, works in the commercial sector in Marbella and has maintained privacy outside the entertainment industry.
