Fresh photos in the weekly magazines

On Wednesday, 21 October 2026, ¡Hola! and Diez Minutos published new photographs of Maxi Iglesias (35) and Aitana Sánchez-Gijón (57). The pictures were taken on 13 October, when Iglesias collected the actress from her home in Madrid. According to the reports, the pair kissed by the entrance before loading their luggage into the car. Other images show them walking hand in hand and embracing during their outings. Diez Minutos carries the kiss on its cover, while ¡Hola! offers shots that a LaSexta commentator described as the truly exclusive ones.

A stay in Sigüenza

The couple travelled to Sigüenza, a medieval town in the province of Guadalajara. ¡Hola! reported that they stayed at a boutique hotel housed in a 15th-century former flour mill, fully restored and surrounded by countryside. The hotel has a spa and a restaurant that holds one Michelin star. During the stay they went sightseeing and sampled local food. El Mundo says they spent three days there after the Día de la Hispanidad long weekend, while La Razón says the departure came after an event Iglesias attended for Solán de Cabras.

Relationship history

Iglesias and Sánchez-Gijón met in 2014 on the set of the series Velvet, where they played Blanca and Max, a couple in the fiction. They kept a friendship for more than a decade before their romance became public. Lecturas published the first photos of them together at the end of March 2026. Since then they have been seen in Santander and Trujillo, and the most recent earlier photos, dated August, were taken in Trujillo. Journalist Leticia Requejo said on the programme La tarde se mueve that Iglesias had introduced Sánchez-Gijón to his mother as his partner, though neither of them has confirmed this publicly. On El Periódico's Mamarazzis podcast, a friend of Iglesias described the relationship as unconventional: they are together but each lives their own life, and they do not use the label boyfriend or girlfriend when speaking of each other.

Speculation and reactions

Juan Sanguino, a collaborator on LaSexta's Zapeando, said the two magazines carry nearly identical pictures of the same moment, which he thinks may be a misunderstanding. He argued that Sánchez-Gijón has always liked bohemian men, unlike Iglesias, and said the actor treats her like a queen. He also suspects a friend of the couple may be behind the photos, possibly with an interest in good relations with the magazine. He voiced the suspicion directly:

“Somebody is making little phone calls.”

He asked when there had ever been paparazzi in Sigüenza. ABC reports that Sánchez-Gijón has answered some criticism of their age difference with irony, while the Mamarazzis hosts said the age gap is a factor but not the story itself. The couple has not publicly confirmed the reported introduction to Iglesias's mother.
