    Magnitude 4.3 earthquake strikes near Pisa, felt from Livorno to Florence; public buildings evacuated, no injuries reported

    The tremor at 10:15 on Tuesday 4 August, at a depth of 8 kilometres and with its epicentre 7 km west of Pisa, prompted precautionary evacuations of the town hall, tribunal, hospital and university. Train circulation through the Pisa hub was suspended for track inspections; Governor Eugenio Giani confirmed no injuries.
