How did Primož Roglič capture European time trial gold at home?

Primož Roglič delivered Slovenia its only medal of the entire continental championships across the twenty-two kilometre course around Šenčur, taking the gold medal on home roads after pacing the circuit with composure.

At 36 years old, the veteran Olympic champion added a first continental time trial title to his extensive career collection, establishing a race-defining advantage over the steep gradients of the primary Mozjanca climb.

That climbing advantage held firm as the rest of the field chased through the flatter closing kilometres, with Roglič securing gold 7 seconds ahead of Bruno Armirail, while French rider Maxime Decomble took the bronze medal 28 seconds back.
