Investigators determined that the adolescent had developed an operational plan to conduct a knife attack targeting students without distinction. Although the suspect had not yet set a definitive calendar date for executing the assault, law enforcement found that he had already gathered the necessary material. During searches conducted in the Rhône, police recovered a bag containing two knives, a military-style outfit, and a chain intended to lock the high school doors to block exits. Judicial supervision and prosecutor appeal

At the conclusion of his initial court appearance on Friday, an anti-terrorist examining magistrate formally indicted the minor for participation in an individual terrorist enterprise. Rather than remanding the youth to provisional detention as demanded by state prosecutors, the judge ordered his release under strict judicial supervision. Under these court-ordered terms, the teenager must comply with an educational placement, attend mandatory psychological and psychiatric consultations, and observe a strict ban on possessing weapons.
