Moylan leads Cardiff to first win of the season

Cardiff City secured their first Championship victory since promotion from League One, defeating Charlton Athletic 3-1 to end a seven-game winless start. Jack Moylan opened the scoring in the eighth minute, placing a low finish into the bottom corner after buildup involving Chris Willock, Alex Robertson, and Yousef Salech. Moylan turned provider in the 24th minute by sending a pass across the six-yard box for Salech to score his fifth goal of the season in all competitions.

Charlton answered five minutes later when Tyler Bindon played a through ball to Tyreece Campbell, who finished past Nathan Trott. Charlton goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo prevented further Cardiff goals before the interval, stopping an effort from Salech and clawing Moylan's header off the goal line before Joel Colwill missed the rebound. Moylan restored the two-goal lead in the 61st minute with a shot from the edge of the penalty area.

Brian Barry-Murphy praised Moylan, who joined Cardiff from Lincoln City in August after making his senior Republic of Ireland debut in May against Grenada. Charlton manager Nathan Jones expressed frustration after his side, who entered the match in sixth place, suffered their second loss in eight league games.

Swansea stage second-half comeback at Lincoln

Swansea City climbed to the top of the Championship table by coming from behind to earn a 2-1 victory away to Lincoln City, marking their third win in four away games this season. Reeco Hackett gave Lincoln the lead with a first-half penalty after Josh Tymon tangled with Freddie Draper in the area. Hackett had earlier hit the side netting and seen a lob gathered by Lawrence Vigouroux as Lincoln relied on long throws and long balls.

Vitor Matos's team reversed the scoreline within six second-half minutes. Melker Widell created the equalizer by driving into the box and crossing for Moussa Yeo to score from close range. Filip Lissah then moved down the right flank to set up Stephen Eustaquio, whose 20-yard strike deflected off Lincoln defender Ryley Towler and past goalkeeper George Wickens. The defeat ended Lincoln's five-match unbeaten league run and dropped them to 13th place.

Millwall derby draw and Stoke fightback

West Ham United surrendered first place in the division after recovering from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Millwall in the clubs' first meeting since 2012. Millwall took a 2-0 half-time lead through goals from Caleb Taylor and Camiel Neghli. The visitors mounted a second-half response after Millwall substituted Mark Sykes in the 70th minute, leveling through Mohamadou Kante and Konstantinos Mavropanos before Kante was sent off with a red card. The Metropolitan Police assigned 400 officers to secure the fixture.

In another comeback, Stoke City defeated Sheffield United 2-1 at the bet365 Stadium to register their fourth victory in five Championship matches. Kalvin Phillips gave Sheffield United the lead with a 51st-minute long-range free-kick, his first league goal in five-and-a-half years. Stoke answered with two goals in the space of 11 minutes from Jack McGlynn and substitute Sam Gallagher to take the points.
