Swansea go top as West Ham stumble at Millwall

Swansea City returned to the top of the Championship table courtesy of a 2-1 comeback victory at Lincoln City. Lincoln led at half-time through a Reeco Hackett penalty after Freddie Draper tangled with Josh Tymon. Vitor Matos' side responded early in the second half, scoring twice within six minutes through Moussa Yeo and a Stephen Eustaquio drive that deflected off Ryley Towler. Academy product Filip Lissah set up the winner after replacing injured right-back Josh Key. The victory ended Lincoln's five-game unbeaten run, while Swansea moved into first place after previous leaders West Ham drew 2-2 at Millwall, where Mohamadou Kante scored and was later sent off.

Cardiff secure first win through Moylan double

Cardiff City secured their first Championship victory of the season with a 3-1 home win over Charlton Athletic, ending a seven-game winless start since promotion. Republic of Ireland forward Jack Moylan scored in the eighth minute before setting up Yousef Salech to double the lead in the 24th minute. Charlton responded when Tyreece Campbell converted a through ball from Tyler Bindon, but Moylan sealed the result with a 61st-minute strike from the edge of the area. Cardiff manager Brian Barry-Murphy praised Moylan's development after his move from Lincoln City.

“We felt as if we were bringing a player who would improve the squad when we bought Jack Moylan. He has qualities we probably didn't have before.”

Charlton manager Nathan Jones was critical of his side's performance after suffering their second defeat in eight games.

“It's an unrecognisable performance to what we normally do. We got outworked, outbattled, outran, outpassed, outthought - everything about it.”

Kenny brace not enough for Preston at QPR

At Loftus Road, bottom-placed Preston North End drew 2-2 against Queens Park Rangers in their first game since sacking manager Paul Heckingbottom. Johnny Kenny scored after 64 seconds and added a second goal following a red card for QPR defender Dennis Cirkin. QPR recovered through Kwame Poku before Paul Smyth scored a 90th-minute equaliser. Elsewhere in the Championship, Stoke City secured a 2-1 comeback win over Sheffield United. Kalvin Phillips scored a 51st-minute free-kick for the visitors before Jack McGlynn and substitute Sam Gallagher struck within 11 minutes to give Stoke four wins from their last five league matches.

Plymouth and Wrexham build momentum

In League One, Plymouth Argyle moved to third place, two points behind leaders Bradford City after seven fixtures, following a 4-2 win at Blackpool. Tom Cleverley's team led 3-1 before Jerry Yates scored for Blackpool, with Bim Pepple adding a late fourth to seal Plymouth's third successive league win. In north Wales, Wrexham ended Southampton's five-match unbeaten run with a 2-1 victory to earn their first home win of the season. Plymouth head coach Tom Cleverley praised his players for responding after falling behind.
