Sprinkler malfunction at Gillette Stadium interrupts halftime of World Cup match between Iraq and Norway

During halftime of the group-stage match, a sprinkler on the edge of the penalty area malfunctioned and released a large stream of water for several seconds. The spray occurred in front of the goal where Erling Haaland had scored twice to give Norway a 2-1 lead. To prevent further damage, all sprinklers were turned off. Groundskeepers rushed onto the field with buckets and tools to disperse the water, and the affected area appeared back to normal by the time the players emerged for the second half.
