
Marlen Reusser defends women's world time trial title in Montreal
Swiss cyclist Marlen Reusser won the individual time trial at the 2026 World Championships in Montreal, defending her title by finishing 40 seconds ahead of Zoe Backstedt.
Swiss cyclist Marlen Reusser defended her world individual time trial title on the streets of Montreal, Canada, celebrating her 35th birthday with the victory.
Reusser built her win during the second half of the course. After trailing Zoe Backstedt by 10 seconds at the first intermediate split, she recovered 8 seconds at the second checkpoint before taking the lead at the third split with a 13-second advantage.
Reusser crossed the finish line 40 seconds ahead of silver medallist Backstedt. Germany's Franziska Koch finished 48 seconds behind the winner to place third.
