Frankfurt rapper reezy releases album 'Raheem', naming 18 tracks after stars from Britney Spears to Karim Benzema
Frankfurt rapper reezy released his album 'Raheem' on 14 August 2026, an 18-track work whose songs are named after celebrities from Britney Spears to Karim Benzema, blending personal biography with pop-culture references.
A personal gallery of pop culture
Frankfurt rapper reezy, whose real name is Raheem Heid, released his new album "Raheem" on 14 August 2026 via Sony Music Entertainment Deutschland. The album comprises 18 mostly shorter tracks, nearly all of them named after a famous personality. Figures referenced include singer Britney Spears, footballer Karim Benzema, and someone addressed as "Victoria" in the lyrics. Sony described the album as a "gallery of pop culture, status symbols and personal references."
reezy told the Deutsche Presse-Agentur that the album is deeply personal.
Raheem is a personal album. And all the iconic figures, the songs that contain the names of all the iconic figures, have all played a role in my life or inspired me in some way.
Bilingual lyrics and serious undertones
The songs shift rapidly between English and German, a technique the articles note lets fans discover new details even on a third listen. One lyric example: "I step into the elevator and it takes me up. We're on the top floor, but we're on the low." Some tracks are poppy and energetic, others darker and more melancholic. Sony characterised the range as "sometimes reduced and melancholic, sometimes full of energy and bounce."
The opening track, also titled "Raheem," turns to reezy's upbringing. He raps: "In my neighbourhood there were no angels, here there was only Angeldust," with Angeldust being a term for the drug PCP. Another line references his father: "My own father packed Haze back then. What do you think is why I have so many of these scars?"
Created in hotel rooms worldwide
reezy described the album's creation process as nomadic. He travelled to various places around the world, opened his laptop, set up speakers in hotel rooms, and made music in different locations, ideally with a nice view. The result is a record that moves between lighthearted celebrity name-dropping and autobiographical weight.
Tour and what comes next
In September 2026, reezy is scheduled to perform in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He did not reveal plans beyond that, but told fans: "Just so you know: it continues."
