Poland’s women's volleyball team closes its second-week schedule at the 2026 Volleyball Nations League against Canada on Sunday, chasing a perfect record in Bangkok.
Poland’s path through week two
Poland entered the Bangkok leg with three wins from four matches in Nanjing, losing only to hosts China. In Thailand, Stefano Lavarini’s side dispatched Bulgaria 3:0, then overcame Ukraine 3:1 and the Netherlands 3:1. A victory on Sunday would make it a clean sweep of the week.

Canada’s challenge
Canada has never beaten Poland at the senior level, but arrives with confidence after a 3:0 upset of the United States earlier in the tournament and a close 2:3 loss to Japan. The Canadians sit near the bubble for the finals in Macau and need points to stay in contention.
Tournament picture
The top seven teams in the standings plus host Macau advance to the final round from 22 to 26 July. After Saturday’s results, Poland sits fourth, behind Brazil, the United States and Japan. The race for the last qualifying spots remains tight, with several teams still in the hunt during this weekend’s matches.
VNL history
The Volleyball Nations League replaced the World Grand Prix in 2018. The United States (2018, 2019, 2021) and Italy (2022, 2024, 2025) lead with three titles each, while Turkey won in 2023. Poland has claimed bronze in each of the last three editions.
