The livestream and police response
On Tuesday evening, Hilton, 48, broadcast a livestream on TikTok that showed him naked and covered in blood, appearing to injure himself with an object. ABC reported that the livestream reached nearly 5,000 viewers. Viewers contacted emergency services to report a man "livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media," according to a statement from the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office. In the footage, Hilton was heard making statements including "hope the police shoot me to death" while looking at sirens outside his window. The livestream was taken down and his TikTok account was suspended shortly after.
In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritise de-escalation by creating time, distance and opportunities for communication.
The sheriff's office said that deputies confirmed Hilton was alone inside the home and spoke with family members at the scene. Authorities then decided to "tactically disengage while continuing to monitor the situation," applying crisis intervention techniques designed to reduce the risk of a "suicide-by-cop encounter."
Hilton was later found safe and transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital for medical care and a psychological evaluation. The department's crisis response unit and licensed mental health professionals were also on scene to provide support and resources to Hilton's family.

Hilton's managers, Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan of Golden Artists Entertainment, issued a statement to outlets including TMZ and Variety before authorities confirmed the hospitalization. They acknowledged awareness of the concerning content but noted they had been unable to establish direct contact with their client.
