
Former German national goalkeeper Dimitri Pätzold joins EHC Red Bull München coaching staff
The 43-year-old ex-NHL goalie returns to the DEL club in a coaching role, responsible for developing all Munich goaltenders.
New role
Dimitri Pätzold assumes responsibility for coaching and developing the goalies at EHC Red Bull München effective immediately. He joins the staff of head coach Oliver David as an assistant coach, the DEL club announced.
Previous experience
For the past two years, Pätzold worked with goaltenders of all age groups in the youth section of the Rookie Bulls. Before that, he gained professional and junior coaching experience as a goaltending coach at DEL2 side EV Landshut.
Playing career
Pätzold's playing background spans 15 DEL seasons, an NHL stint with the San Jose Sharks, and international appearances for Germany at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and five World Championships.
