Ortega stays on top

Amancio Ortega, founder of Inditex, remains first on Forbes Spain's 2026 list of the 100 richest Spaniards, a position he has held since 2014. His fortune rose 13.9% on 2025 to 125,200 million euros, which keeps him within the top 10 of Forbes USA's world ranking. RTVE describes the 90-year-old as holding alone 42% of the list's total wealth, while ABC puts that share at 41.7%, so the two figures are reported side by side. His daughter Sandra Ortega holds second place with 11,500 million euros and is the only woman among the top five. ABC says her fortune grew by 1,500 million euros this year, helped by the recovery in the company's share price after a fall the year before.
