Muse expands European arena tour to January 2027 with new dates in Lisbon, France, and Spain
British rock band Muse has added eight arena concerts in January 2027 to their European schedule, booking performances in Lisbon, Bordeaux, Lyon, Madrid, and Valencia.
Expanded tour dates in southern Europe
British rock band Muse has expanded its European tour into January 2027, adding eight arena dates across Portugal, France, and Spain due to ticket demand. The newly announced leg will begin on 10 January 2027 at the MEO Arena in Lisbon under the Super Bock Super Rock Concert Series banner, organized in partnership with promoter Live Nation Portugal. The Lisbon concert marks the trio's return to the country following their July 2025 appearance at the NOS Alive festival in Algés. The tour will then head to France for concerts in Bordeaux on 12 and 13 January, followed by Lyon on 16 and 17 January. Spanish stops follow with two dates at the Movistar Arena in Madrid on 19 and 20 January, leading to a show at the Roig Arena in Valencia on 23 January, marking the group's debut in that venue. Presales for Lisbon tickets open on 6 October 2026 at 09:00 local time, followed by general sales on 8 October at 09:00.
European winter itinerary and North American run
The January extension follows an arena run across Europe scheduled to begin in the United Kingdom in late 2026. Muse will open the European leg with concerts at Manchester's Co-op Live on 12 and 13 November 2026, before moving to The O2 in London on 15 and 16 November. The tour will then visit Berlin, Milan, Düsseldorf, Paris, Amsterdam, Montpellier, and Zurich, where two concerts in December will conclude the 2026 calendar. These dates follow the conclusion of the North American leg of The Wow! Signal Tour, which included headline slots at Summerfest in Milwaukee and the Festival d'été de Québec, alongside a closing performance at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

Studio release and critical response
The tour supports the band's tenth studio album, The Wow! Signal, released on 26 June 2026 as the successor to their 2022 album Will of the People and their 2023 Absolution reissue. Formed in 1994 by Matt Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme, and Dominic Howard, the band previewed the record in March 2026 with the single Be With You. The lead track registered more than three million streams in its first week and reached the top five on Alternative Radio. The album also features Nightshift Superstar, Cryogen, Hexagons, and Unravelling, a track first issued in 2025. Music outlets received the record favorably, with NME describing it as the band's best record in two decades, while Kerrang! and Louder praised its intensity and themes.
A mixture of cosmic mystery, existential hope and the exciting possibility of contact with something much bigger than ourselves.
Astronomical origins of the album concept
The album and tour take their name from an unsolved radio detection recorded in 1977. An astronomer reviewing radio telescope data identified an unexplained 72-second signal originating from the direction of Sagittarius. The researcher circled the alphanumeric sequence 6EQUJ5 on the printout and wrote the word WOW beside it. Muse incorporated the event into the aesthetic and thematic structure of the project, exploring themes of extraterrestrial contact and technology. The live arena shows incorporate these cosmic themes across the stage production.
