
Fire breaks out at car spare parts store in Menidi, Greece; 18 firefighters deployed

A fire erupted early Monday at a business premises on Leoforos Ionias in Menidi, according to the Hellenic Fire Service. The blaze involved a store selling car spare parts and produced thick smoke that engulfed the surrounding area. The fire appears to have started from a passenger car parked inside the store, as reported by one local outlet.
Firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene. According to the fire service, 18 firefighters with six vehicles and municipal water tankers are working to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading, as the neighbourhood is densely populated. Traffic on the street has been halted for the safety of drivers.
