Lucas González revealed his newly reconstructed nose on Spanish television following an eight-hour surgical intervention in Turkey. The operation was arranged to correct severe structural issues stemming from an earlier rhinoplasty performed two years prior. In September 2024, the singer underwent a cosmetic nasal procedure but subsequently failed to follow post-operative medical instructions and skipped required recovery protocols. That initial intervention resulted in improper cicatrization, tissue infection, and widespread social media mockery that became a viral topic in Spain. Doctors required González to endure a two-year waiting period to eliminate the underlying infection and allow the nasal tissue to heal before any secondary surgical revision could safely take place. Two weeks after completing the eight-hour procedure in Turkey, González returned to Spain to present the surgical results.

Television appearance on De viernes

González made his first full public appearance without a protective mask during an interview on the Spanish television programme De viernes. Speaking with programme host Santi Acosta, the singer detailed the medical journey that led to his updated facial appearance. Although González wore a protective mask in public during his first days back in Spain, he removed it in the television studio to display the surgical outcome. He noted that recovery remains ongoing, explaining that he currently wears internal retainers inside both nostrils to support the nasal structure while it heals. The singer explained that these medical retainers account for the visible facial swelling on camera, adding that he is strictly adhering to all clinical protocols during this recovery cycle.

Andy Morales responds on television

The television interview coincided with public comments from his former musical partner Andy Morales, who addressed the situation during an appearance on the programme El verano se mueve. Morales responded to inquiries regarding González's operation and upcoming television appearance, adopting a conciliatory stance after months of public tension between the former duo members. Morales acknowledged that he had previously revealed too much regarding their private disputes and stated that he no longer feels comfortable speaking either positively or negatively about others in public. He added that he harboured no apprehension regarding what González might say during the interview, expressing relief that the surgery had been completed safely.

Financial disputes and past collaboration

The conciliatory remarks followed prior friction between the musicians concerning administrative decisions and creative recognition. In previous public statements, Morales had voiced criticism regarding financial management within the partnership as well as his omission as a co-author of the duo's signature song Son de amores. Despite those past disagreements, Morales acknowledged the mutual success achieved during more than twenty years of joint musical performances. In addition to original compositions, the album contains updated reinterpretations of several songs from the duo's former catalogue, allowing Morales to incorporate elements of his musical past into his new solo venture.
