Latin Grammy 2026 nominations: Edgar Barrera leads with 10 nods as Rosalía and Karol G earn seven

Top nominees across key categories

Mexican songwriter and producer Edgar Barrera leads the nominations for the 27th Annual Latin Grammy Awards with 10 nods. Barrera, who shares the record of 29 Latin Grammy wins with Residente, received nominations in categories including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Producer of the Year. Four acts follow Barrera with seven nominations each: Spanish singer Rosalía, Colombian artist Karol G, Uruguayan singer-songwriter Jorge Drexler, and Argentine duo CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso. Mexican songwriter Silvana Estrada and Chilean artist Mon Laferte received six nominations each, while 19-year-old Argentine rapper Milo J secured five nominations.

Contenders for Album of the Year

Ten records compete in the Album of the Year category. Rosalía earned her nomination for Lux, a conceptual album recorded in 13 languages featuring orchestral and operatic arrangements. Karol G entered the race with Tropicoqueta, an album drawing on Latin American musical roots and mid-century aesthetic influences. Argentine duo CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso secured a place with Free Spirits, which features collaborations with Sting and Jack Black while satirizing viral celebrity.

Jorge Drexler received a nomination for Taracá, a project recorded in Uruguay dedicated to the memory of his late father and built around Afro-Uruguayan candombe rhythms. The remaining nominees in the category are Anitta for Equilibrivm, Silvana Estrada for Vendrán Suaves Lluvias, Mon Laferte for Femme Fatale, Carín León for Muda, Milo J for La Vida Era Más Corta, and Venezuelan band Rawayana for ¿Dónde Es El After?.

Song and Record selections

The general field categories feature direct overlap among the most-nominated artists. In Record of the Year, nominees include "La perla" by Rosalía featuring Yahritza y Su Esencia, "Coleccionando heridas" by Karol G and Marco Antonio Solís, "¿Cómo se ama?" by Jorge Drexler, "Ha Ha" by CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, "Dime" by Silvana Estrada, and "Desde que te tengo" by Carín León.

The Song of the Year category, awarded directly to songwriters, includes "La perla", "Coleccionando heridas", "¿Cómo se ama?", "Dime", "Femme fatale", "Hasta Jesús tuvo un mal día" performed by CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso with Sting, "Humano" by Juanes and Vivir Quintana, and "Mi gran amor" by Santana featuring Becky G. Eleven artists received nominations for Best New Artist, including Delilah, FABIAN, Loulu Gilberto, Arath Herce, Macario Martínez, maye, Sofía Monroy, Kendall Peña, Dora Sanches, ARIA VEGA, and Zeca Veloso. Latin Recording Academy CEO Manuel Abud addressed the selection process during the announcement.

Event schedule and eligibility window

The 27th Annual Latin Grammy nominations cover musical works released between June 1, 2025, and May 31, 2026, evaluated across 60 distinct categories. The awards ceremony will take place on November 12, 2026, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, with the United States broadcast carried by Televisa and Univision.

The nominations announcement coincided with the conclusion of Rosalía's six-month tour in Miami on September 16, 2026. The Recording Academy will announce nominations for the general Grammy Awards four days after the Latin Grammy gala, on November 16, 2026, ahead of their ceremony on February 7, 2027, in Los Angeles.
