Police hunt man after 75-year-old found dead in taxi at Pomorskie forest parking lot

Discovery of the body

A family with a child reportedly came across the scene at a forest parking lot off national road 22 in Młynki, a small village near Czersk in Pomerania. The body of an elderly man was found late on 11 June, shortly before midnight. According to reports, a taxi was parked abandoned nearby. Some sources indicate the man was found inside the vehicle, while others describe him lying on the ground near the taxi. Police have confirmed the man was 75 years old.

Signs of foul play

Investigators from the Chojnice District Police, under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Chojnice, are treating the death as a possible homicide. Unofficial reports mention the man had a head injury and a cut wound to the neck.

“Officers, under the prosecutor's supervision, carried out an inspection of the scene and secured evidence. Activities are underway to clarify all the circumstances of this incident.”

The search for Mateusz Gornowicz

On the morning of 13 June, police issued an urgent appeal to locate Mateusz Gornowicz, describing him as a person who may possess information critical to the investigation. He is believed to be wearing a black leather jacket, a dark green hoodie, a dark baseball cap, black shoes, and distinctive socks featuring a marijuana leaf motif.

“We are searching for Mateusz Gornowicz, who may have information relevant to the proceedings. Every piece of information can matter.”

Authorities are asking residents to remain vigilant and report any sightings immediately by calling 47 74 36 222 or the emergency number 112.

“Persons who spot the indicated man are asked to exercise extreme caution. Do not approach him or attempt to detain him. His whereabouts should be reported to the Police without delay.”
