In brief
Holland's long-standing request for a zipper in the Spider-Man suit was granted for the new film.
Zendaya said the old mask was difficult to remove and she worried Holland could choke; the new design is safer and more comfortable.
Holland called golf his 'lifesaver,' prompting a sarcastic retort from Zendaya before he clarified the sport keeps him grounded.
Set four years after No Way Home, the story follows a Peter Parker who erased himself from loved ones' memories, with deeper emotional stakes.
Both actors dismissed AI as a threat to film, arguing it cannot replicate human emotion or artistic expression.
The couple, who met on the Spider-Man set in 2016 and confirmed their relationship in 2021, recently held a private wedding, per their stylist.

Suit upgrades and safety fears
Tom Holland revealed that after years of asking, his Spider-Man suit now includes a zipper, fulfilling a practical need on set.
“I finally got my wish.”
Golf confession and a quick retort
When host Pablo Motos asked how they handle global fame, Holland immediately answered, "Golf is my lifesaver."
“Thank you, huh.”
A mature Spider-Man for a new chapter
The couple described 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' as the most emotional installment yet. Set four years after 'No Way Home', Peter Parker lives alone and has voluntarily erased himself from the memories of those he loves. Zendaya said the story is seen through Peter's eyes with greater depth. Holland teased new characters including The Punisher, Scorpion, Boomerang, and secret villains, while calling the action sequences the best they have ever filmed.
Crochet and AI reassurances
Zendaya gave an impromptu live crochet lesson to Motos and Holland. When asked about AI threatening the film industry, she stated there are many things AI cannot do.
“Creativity is safe from AI because it has to do with human experience, with emotions, with connecting with others. AI doesn't understand those emotions. … The way an artist paints is not the technique, it is what they express, and AI expresses nothing. I feel we are protected.”
From co-stars to secret wedding
Holland first appeared on El Hormiguero in 2015 as a teenager; Zendaya joined him for this first joint interview in 2026. Their off-screen relationship, confirmed in 2021, has been notoriously private. Stylist Law Roach recently confirmed the couple had a secret wedding.
