Tobey Maguire officiates ex-wife Jennifer Meyer's wedding weeks after divorce

Maguire leads the ceremony

Tobey Maguire officiated the wedding of his former wife, jewellery designer Jennifer Meyer, to Geoffrey Ogunlesi on Saturday, 10 October, at the Four Seasons Resort Lanai in Hawaii. According to People, as cited by La Vanguardia, Maguire wore a black suit, acted as master of ceremonies and led the couple through their vows. Photographs published afterwards show the 51-year-old actor smiling beside the couple, while Meyer is 49 and Ogunlesi is 34. Ogunlesi is the son of Nigerian billionaire Adebayo Ogunlesi, according to n-tv, which reports that Maguire and Meyer's children Ruby, 19, and Otis, 17, attended the ceremony. Meyer's daughter with Ogunlesi, born in 2026, was also present.

A divorce finalised weeks before the wedding

Maguire and Meyer met in 2003 while he was filming Seabiscuit, married in September 2007 in Hawaii and announced their separation in June 2016, according to n-tv. Meyer filed for divorce in 2020, and Blick reports that the decree only recently became final. Court documents published by People, as reported by La Vanguardia, show that both became legally single on 21 September 2026 and that the resolution was presented to the Los Angeles Superior Court on 1 October 2026. Il Fatto Quotidiano counted 19 days between the change in legal status and the wedding and reports that the proceedings were split, so the marriage has ended while some questions remain open within a broader agreement.

Guests and the wider circle

n-tv, citing US media reports based on wedding photographs, lists designer Rachel Zoe, actors Courteney Cox and Kate Hudson, Leonardo DiCaprio with his girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti, and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos with Lauren Sanchez Bezos among the guests. The Italian report credits Page Six with first reporting the wedding and describes it as taking place a few weeks after the couple were declared legally single. Blick places the case in a wider pattern of amicable former couples, citing Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, who divorced in 2000 and remain close. Blick also notes that Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin coined the term conscious uncoupling in 2014 and still spend holidays together.

Friendship after the split

Blick reports that Meyer has repeatedly described her relationship with Maguire as friendly and once called the separation the most beautiful experience of her life. La Vanguardia reports that Meyer has called Maguire the best ex-husband a girl could have and told People that Ogunlesi and Maguire get along well. In the same interview she described Maguire as an incredible father and ex-husband. When the couple announced their separation in 2016, they said their top priority remained raising their children together with steady love, respect and friendship, according to n-tv.
