The Victorian mansion, built in the late 1860s, was once owned by Lord Beaverbrook, the press tycoon who controlled the Daily Express and Evening Standard and hosted figures including Winston Churchill, Elizabeth Taylor, and James Bond creator Ian Fleming. Hoteliers Joel Cadbury and Ollie Vigors acquired the property in 2010 and redeveloped it into a luxury hotel with 56 rooms and suites, a spa, gym, two pools, and an art-deco theater.
