
Heat alerts in Lleida and Calahorra as AEMET forecasts clear skies across much of Spain for Saturday
AEMET forecasts mostly clear skies across Spanish cities for Saturday 27 June, with yellow warnings for high temperatures in parts of Lleida and La Rioja.
Saturday temperatures and alerts
Eight Spanish cities covered by El Confidencial are set for a hot and largely cloud-free Saturday. Jaén, Murcia, Granada, Torremolinos, Brunete and Estepona will see clear or slightly cloudy skies, with maximum temperatures ranging from 30°C in Torremolinos to 37°C in Granada. Two locations face yellow alerts for extreme heat: the central depression of Lleida, where a high of 38°C is expected and a feels‑like temperature of 39°C, and Calahorra (La Rioja), where the mercury could reach 40°C by 18:00. Winds will be light across all areas, generally from the east or southeast.

In Calahorra there is a small chance of afternoon‑evening thunderstorms, while the other cities remain dry. Lleida and Calahorra are the only locations under active AEMET warnings for the day.
Sunday and Monday outlook
Sunday brings a slight cooling trend. Maximum temperatures will ease to 34°C in Calahorra, 36°C in Lleida and around 31‑35°C in most other cities. Skies will start with some cloud, particularly in Granada, Calahorra and Brunete, but clear or partially clear later. Calahorra is the only city forecast to receive rain on Sunday, with showers developing around midday.
By Monday the heat will remain, with highs of 38°C in Jaén, 37°C in Lleida and 35‑36°C elsewhere. Precipitation is unlikely for most locations, though AEMET assigns a low probability of rain to Jaén, Granada and Calahorra. Winds stay light and variable, posing no concern.
