An 18-month-old girl died at the University Hospital of Heraklion (PAGNI) on Friday evening, 12 June 2026. Her 45-year-old grandfather rushed her to the emergency room after her health deteriorated dramatically. Medical staff found the child in a septic condition and immediately began cardiopulmonary resuscitation when she suffered a cardiac arrest. They performed CPR for 48 minutes, but she did not survive.
