Fedez cancels all August and September concerts after hospital stay, tells fans: 'I thought my time was about to end'
Italian rapper Fedez announced on 27 July that he is cancelling all live shows scheduled for August and September, days after being discharged from hospital where he was treated for bleeding ulcers. In an emotional Instagram post from his Milan terrace, he reflected on his newborn son and the fragility of life.
Emergency hospital stay
Fedez (Federico Lucia) was hospitalised on 20 July with acute gastrointestinal bleeding caused by ulcers. He was admitted initially to the Fatebenefratelli hospital in Milan and later transferred to the Humanitas hospital in Rozzano, where he received blood transfusions and treatment in the gastroenterology department. The rapper was discharged on the afternoon of Thursday 23 July.
The hospitalisation came just days after the birth of his third child, Edoardo Lupo, with his partner Giulia Honegger. Fedez, 36, already had two children (Leone and Vittoria) from his previous marriage to Chiara Ferragni.
A message of fear and gratitude
On Monday 27 July, Fedez posted a photo on Instagram showing him shirtless and tattooed, standing on a terrace overlooking the Milan skyline at sunset. The caption was a long reflection on time, family and the terror of losing them.
When you're in hospital waiting for the last blood transfusion you feel yourself wavering, you think your time is about to end or thereabouts. Just as another life is beginning, that of your newborn son.
He wrote that the fear of not being able to hug his loved ones again made him "see the sky in a different way" and acknowledged that his body had yet again forced him to stop. He added that, this time, the doctors were also insisting he rest.
My body raised its hand for the umpteenth time and told me 'stop'. Now the doctors are telling me too, and that's what I'll do. But without despair, on the contrary. I still feel lucky to be under this sky.
He closed by promising fans he would resume everything he is now forced to suspend.
All summer and autumn shows cancelled
Promoter Vivo Concerti confirmed on 27 July that Fedez's entire live calendar for August and September has been scrapped because his health requires "a period of treatment and recovery".
Following the artist's health conditions, which require a period of treatment and recovery, the suspension of Fedez's live activity scheduled for August and September is necessary, to allow the artist to dedicate himself fully to the recovery process and the protection of his health.
The cancellation covers ten dates: DJ sets in Adrano on 4 August, Marina di Ragusa on 5 August, Serradifalco on 10 August, Gioia Tauro on 13 August, Gallipoli on 14 August, Avellino on 16 August, Celano on 26 August, Velletri on 3 September, Decimomannu on 29 September, and the headline concert "Casa 360°" at the Unipol Forum in Assago (Milan) planned for 25 September 2026. Refunds for tickets purchased online through TicketOne are automatic; buyers at physical outlets have 30 days to request reimbursement.
