The crash in Viișoara follows an earlier incident involving unmanned aerial hardware on Romanian soil. One week prior, debris from an unidentified airborne object fell into a private yard in Ciușlea, located in Vrancea County.
That discovery prompted local authorities to establish a 150-metre security perimeter and evacuate several nearby residents. Laurențiu Diaconu, mayor of Garoafa commune, confirmed that local residents reported hearing a loud detonation before finding the wreckage. Defence ministry personnel were deployed to inspect whether those fragments matched a drone tracked earlier over Galați County.
