
Greek police arrest 21-year-old driver clocked at 210 km/h on Athens highway
Traffic police radar recorded the car traveling at twice the legal limit on the Athens-Lamia national road on Friday evening.
The incident
On Friday evening, 26 June 2026, officers from the Traffic Accident Control and Prevention Teams (OEPTA) of the Attica Traffic Police Directorate spotted a car on the New Athens-Lamia National Road, near the Kifissia area. A radar device measured the vehicle's speed at 210 km/h.
The violation
The posted speed limit on that stretch of highway is 100 km/h. The 21-year-old driver was traveling 110 km/h over the limit, creating a danger for other road users, the Hellenic Police (ELAS) stated.
Arrest and charges
The driver was pulled over and arrested at the scene. The Highway Traffic Department B' of P.A.TH.E. Attica filed a case against him for dangerous driving. He was subsequently brought before the competent prosecutor.
