Damiano David and Dove Cameron marry in Montalcino civil ceremony

Måneskin frontman Damiano David and American singer Dove Cameron married in a civil ceremony at the town hall of Montalcino on Thursday, 24 September 2026. The couple selected the date to match the anniversary of their first date in New York in 2023. Festivities are scheduled to continue on Friday, 25 September 2026, at the Castiglion del Bosco resort in Val d'Orcia.

The pair first met in August 2022 backstage at the MTV Video Music Awards at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, where both were nominated for Best New Artist. At the time, David was in a relationship with Giorgia Soleri and Cameron was with actor Thomas Doherty. Two months later, Måneskin's management contacted Cameron regarding a potential collaboration and tour opening slot, which she declined.

They reconnected at the September 2023 VMAs, where Måneskin won Best Rock for the single 'The Loneliest' and Cameron won Best Video for 'Breakfast'. David invited Cameron to the band's concert at Madison Square Garden on 21 September 2023. Following the performance and an after-party, the pair went on their first dinner date three days later in New York.

Cameron described David's approach during their early meetings in an interview with Cosmopolitan:
