Belgium braces for heatwave as temperatures climb to 32°C, code orange issued for Monday
The Royal Meteorological Institute issued a yellow warning for Sunday and will escalate most of the country to code orange on Monday, the expected peak of the hot spell.
A new episode of intense heat is settling over Belgium. The Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) issued a yellow warning for Sunday, before placing nearly the entire country under an orange alert for Monday, which is forecast to be the hottest day of this spell.
On Sunday, temperatures will reach 30 to 32°C inland under largely sunny skies. Overnight lows will remain elevated, ranging from 16°C in the Hautes Fagnes to 20°C in Liège, with 19°C expected in Brussels and Namur.
