Liechtenstein abolishes 400-year-old Salic law, opens throne to women
Hereditary Prince Alois announced on National Day that the princely family voted to replace male primogeniture with absolute primogeniture, ending a rule in place since 1606 and making Liechtenstein the last European state to drop Salic law.
