Hurricane Isaias becomes first Atlantic hurricane of 2026 season, nears Alabama and Florida
Isaias became the Atlantic season's first hurricane late in the year, and the National Hurricane Center expects it to reach the northern Gulf Coast late Friday or early Saturday. Forecasts call for storm surge up to 2.1 metres and rain of up to 180 mm.
