A fast-moving wildfire that began near Saumos, west of Bordeaux, has forced the evacuation of more than 20,000 residents and tourists from campsites and villages near the Arcachon Bay, with flames reaching 10 metres high and advancing to within 300 metres of Lège-Cap-Ferret.
