    Brazil denies visas to two US State Department officials, citing risk of political manipulation ahead of October election

    The Brazilian government refused entry to deputy secretaries Riley M. Barnes and Samuel Samson, who were scheduled to discuss electoral integrity with authorities in Brasilia from 27 to 30 July. Officials in Brasilia told Reuters the visit was an attempt to undermine the country's electronic voting system.
