Anderlecht were knocked out of the Belgian Cup round of 16 on Sunday, 18 October, losing 2-1 at Beerschot VA after Ali Maamar was sent off in the second half. The result adds to pressure on coach Vítor Bruno, whose side had also lost 1-0 at Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League.
