French inflation rises to 2.1% in July as energy costs surge, eurozone hits 2.9%

Consumer prices in France rose 2.1% year-on-year in July, up from 1.8% in June, as energy costs jumped 12.4% amid Middle East tensions. Eurozone inflation edged up to 2.9%.
