    Luís Represas, Trovante vocalist and 'iconic voice' of Portuguese music, dies at 69 after prolonged illness

    The musician, who founded Trovante in 1976 and built a celebrated solo career, passed away on Wednesday in Lisbon from lung cancer. Former President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who knew him since childhood, called the loss personal: 'Some of the best moments of my life I spent seeing him, listening to him and admiring him.'
