Morocco convicts 29 in Sahara Escobar drug trial: former football chief and ex-officials jailed

A Casablanca court handed prison terms of up to 12 years to 29 people, including former politicians and a football club president, in the 'Sahara Escobar' drug trafficking and corruption case. The convictions on June 25 mark the first time top political figures have been sentenced for narcotics in Morocco.
