How long should the daily brief be?

This sets the length of the daily brief for a quarter. Every reader lives with it, so the case against is longer than usual.
The case against each option
Five items means days when something real is left out. Fifteen means the brief stops being a brief. No fixed length is honest about the news and hard to plan a morning around.
