Reading without an account
All news content is free and works anonymously. Home, Brief, Live, Threads, Search, article views, Q&A, and source links are all available without signing in.
An account unlocks saved articles, followed entities, push notifications, personalisation, and membership.
Sign in
Pollar uses email plus a one-time code. You enter your email, we send a six-digit code, you enter it. Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google are also supported.
Membership
Membership is a vote for the project, not a paywall. Everything stays free. Two tiers, Supporter and Founder, are billed annually in PLN, EUR, or USD.
Start membership from Settings > Membership in the iOS app or from the support page on the web. Cancel any time via Settings > Membership > Manage on the same surface you bought from, or via the Stripe billing portal.
Personalisation and AI processing
Pollar uses Google Vertex AI Gemini hosted in the europe-west4 region (European Union) to turn the free-text in Settings > Preferences into structured feed rules. You opt in once via the consent sheet on first save. We never send your identifier or email. Google does not use your input to train its models.
Turn personalisation off at any time via the master toggle in Settings. Article-level Q&A runs on Apple Intelligence on-device and never leaves your iPhone.
Data and account deletion
Settings > Privacy > Delete account triggers a soft delete with a 30-day grace period. During those 30 days you can sign back in and reverse it. After 30 days the account row, every session, every follow, every preference snapshot, and every membership row tied to the account are permanently removed from our database.
If you have an active Stripe subscription, cancel it via the billing portal before deleting the account.
Push notifications
Anonymous broadcast push fires for developing stories. You can opt out any time in Settings > Notifications. Per-followed-entity push is a separate opt-in. Push is delivered directly via APNs, with no third-party push provider in the chain.
Privacy posture
No third-party trackers. No analytics SDKs. No advertising profiles. No cookies on the marketing site beyond what's strictly necessary. The full Privacy Policy lives at /privacy; this section is the plain-language summary.
