Can Márquez clinch the title at Portimão?
AI-generated text and synthetic voice. How this text is made
Marco Bezzecchi won the Qatar Grand Prix at Lusail from pole, a day after crashing out of the Sprint. The title race now turns to Portimão, where Márquez can seal it.
Lusail and Portimão
Márquez won the Sprint and finished second on Sunday, scoring 32 points across the weekend. Martín, riding with a fractured wrist, still took seventh, enough to stop Márquez sealing it in Qatar.
32
Martín trails Márquez by 60 points, and Bezzecchi by 74. Márquez can clinch at the Portimão Sprint with two more points than Martín. Bezzecchi needs Márquez to score nothing at the next two rounds, and Martín to score no more than fourteen across both weekends. Given Martín's form in Qatar, that looks unlikely.
