Yola Berrocal accepts head shaving for cake on Supervivientes All Stars

A last-minute swap at the presenter's desk

The episode broadcast on Sunday, 25 October began without its usual host. Sandra Barneda was unwell shortly before going on air, and Mediaset arranged a replacement at short notice. Carmen Borrego presented the first half hour, from 21:30 to 22:00, on the Mediaset Infinity streaming service, and she spoke to viewers directly to explain the absence. Jorge Javier Vázquez then took over when the programme went out on the free-to-air channel Telecinco and hosted the rest of the episode.

Borrego, a regular collaborator making her presenting debut, used the moment to joke about the trials the contestants face.

“As you can see, I am not Sandra Barneda. Our colleague felt unwell a little before coming here, but nobody should worry because she is fine.”

Vázquez opened his stint on Telecinco with a message for his colleague.

“Before anything else, I want to send a greeting to my colleague and friend Sandra Barneda, who is unwell and cannot present this Sunday.”

Many viewers celebrated the change on social media, where some said the host's style suited the night's temptation segment.

Tempting dishes and unusual looks

The Mesa de las Tentaciones, a segment the programme has used for several weeks of competition, offers food or video messages from loved ones in exchange for changes to the contestants' appearance. Omar Sánchez was one of the first to reach the table, where he agreed to cut half his beard for a lasagna. He then accepted to wear a loincloth until Thursday, 29 October, and to have part of his rear waxed by Rosa Benito in exchange for squid. He also gave up half his hair to receive a video of his grandmother, saying he had dreamed of his grandmother's squid for a long time.

Víctor Janeiro hesitated over losing his eyebrows in exchange for two plates of spaghetti, because he considered them an important part of his expression. He eventually agreed, shaving his eyebrows and putting on a turbopacket and a bullfighter's montera to watch a video of his children. The bullfighter's sacrifices were presented as the price of seeing his family.

The Argentine Ivana Icardi agreed to cut 25 centimetres of hair for a plate of grilled skirt steak and an Argentine barbecue. She then accepted to dye her hair black in exchange for a video of her daughter, a moment that visibly upset her. Asraf Beno received a giant kebab for waxing his chest, a second kebab for handing over his son's plush toy, and a mohawk in exchange for talking to his family. He also gave up his beard to speak live with Isa Pantoja.

Yola Berrocal first accepted half a chocolate cake in exchange for giving up her sleeping bag until the end of the contest. The programme then added a portion of chorizo and the other half of the cake in return for shaving her head. The shaving itself was held back for the Tuesday broadcast, 27 October, so viewers did not see it on Sunday. Berrocal cried while speaking with her brother, and the programme's offer let her learn how her relatives were doing from the Cayos Cochinos.

The episode also revealed the blind percentages of the week's three nominees. Arkano received 53.6%, Asraf Beno 36.9% and Omar Sánchez 9.5%.

Damián Quintero, the sportsman invited into the studio, said he had suffered much worse on this edition than on his previous one.
