A central focus of the questioning involved a photograph transmitted to Komianos's mobile phone at 14:45 on the day Mazonakis underwent plasmapheresis. The image showed the singer during the clinical procedure and was sent directly by Ioanna Gaka, the 56-year-old physician facing charges in connection with Mazonakis's death. Gaka had identified Komianos to investigators as the recipient of the message, arguing during her own statements that taking photographs of patients during therapy represented standard clinical practice. In earlier statements referenced during the inquiry, Komianos noted that he believed Mazonakis was still alive at the exact time the photograph was taken. Magistrates also questioned Komianos on whether he possessed prior knowledge of the clinical methods and therapies applied by Gaka during her practice.

Intermediary contacts and appointment schedule

Investigators examined the broader chain of communication between the hypnotherapist, the treating doctor, and Mazonakis's professional circle. Komianos confirmed that he maintained an ongoing professional collaboration with Gaka and had agreed to see Mazonakis for an appointment scheduled for 17:00 that same afternoon, immediately following the plasmapheresis session. Greek authorities are also reviewing the actions of a woman in Mazonakis's professional entourage who acted as a connecting link by contacting Komianos and insisting on the consultation. To support his testimony, Komianos prepared a detailed log documenting incoming phone calls, two specific conversations with the female intermediary, and mobile messages exchanged with Gaka. Authorities are considering summoning this intermediary to testify as well.

Single meeting and judicial secrecy

Following his exit from the magistrate's office, Komianos answered questions regarding the extent of his personal acquaintance with Mazonakis. He stated that he had met the singer only once, during an introductory discussion on the Monday two days before Mazonakis died, characterizing the meeting as an initial conversation rather than a therapeutic session. When asked by reporters about the content of that earlier encounter, Komianos reiterated that it was simply an introductory talk. He declined to disclose specifics of his formal testimony before the magistrate, emphasizing that penal law mandates strict confidentiality during judicial investigations.

“I came to contribute and shed light on some aspects and help the magistrate. I cannot reveal what I testified.”

Legal counsel Giannis Glykas addressed reporters outside the building to confirm that his client appeared entirely of his own accord without facing charges.
