The visiting side had taken control of the scoreline through an 18th-minute strike by Robin Fellhauer and a 58th-minute finish from Calvin Brackelmann. Weiser decisive after 14-month absence
The match concluded with a decisive strike in the second minute of stoppage time by Mitchell Weiser. The 32-year-old winger, who previously played for Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, made his first home appearance since suffering a torn cruciate ligament in July 2025. After missing the entire preceding season and playing brief minutes away against Cologne a week earlier, Weiser entered as a substitute in the second half. In the 92nd minute, he curled a shot into the top right corner of the net past Dahmen to establish the final 3-2 scoreline.
Weiser reflected on his return and the support received during his rehabilitation period after the final whistle.

Füllkrug scoring run and league standings
The equalizer by Füllkrug represented his third goal across his last three Bundesliga matches for Bremen. The 33-year-old forward returned to the club in the summer following transfers to Borussia Dortmund for 17.25 million euros, West Ham United, and AC Milan. Füllkrug scored from the edge of the penalty area after midfielder Youri Regeer anticipated the strike during the buildup. Managing director Clemens Fritz noted during the transfer that Füllkrug brought leadership and quality to the squad, while professional football director Peter Niemeyer commended the team's persistence after halftime.
