
Kyriaki wildfire contained in 20 minutes; arson investigation team dispatched to scene
A wildfire that broke out on Monday morning in Kyriaki, Viotia has been fully contained, with no active front remaining.
A wildfire that ignited on Monday morning in Kyriaki, Viotia has been fully contained, with no active front remaining. The Fire Service reported that ground and aerial units brought the blaze under control within 20 minutes of intervention.
The fire started in low vegetation and spread into a forested area. Firefighting forces deployed included 26 firefighters, a foot patrol team from the 4th EMODE, and nine vehicles. Three helicopters provided aerial support, while water tankers from the Distomo municipality assisted on the ground. An arson investigation unit from Fthiotida has been sent to the scene to examine the fire's cause.
